Name:Enduring Plum
Birthdate:Nov 28
Location:Louisiana, United States of America
I'm a twenty-six year old, mother of one and perpetual student. I'm also an artist, sometimes a singer, always a Witch, and I love to garden, bake and cook, knit (although I don't have much time for it right now) swim, play all sorts of games, and care for all types of animals, especially those who have been abused or neglected before and may need some emotional or physical rehabilitation. I'm also very much a tea lover, although I don't think I'm a terrible tea snob: I drink whatever I think is good-- both hot and iced, herbal or black, sweetened or unsweetened, with milk or without-- and I like concocting my own herbal tea blends from what I have growing in my garden; while I was pregnant I very much missed my daily cup or two of raspberry black tea by The Original Ceylon Tea Company, which I discovered right after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, when I was spending my weekends at the historical Boswell Sisters mansion in uptown New Orleans.

Miranda - September 2008

My husband and I bought our second house in 2008; it's not too far from our previous home, which was destroyed due to the flooding of Hurricane Katrina. We also had our first child in September of 2008, Miranda Rose, who was conceived thanks to Dr. Lu at the New Orleans Fertility Institute; Dr. Lu has a wonderful understanding of PCOS and the emotional needs of women struggling with infertility -- I couldn't be happier with the care he gave me and our little daughter is the joy of my life.

You might consider me a little bit "crunchy," because I'm big into recycling and eating organic, and I had a wonderful, drug free birth, partly because of my allergy to various pain killers and partly because I wanted to be fully present during the delivery of my first child and I will never do a medicated childbirth after Miranda's amazing birth. Since she was born we've been using cloth diapers, which have proven to be easy and more pleasant to use than disposable diapers; using cloth has also saved us a lot of money, which is a nice bonus. Right now we're breast feeding exclusively, but I'm already looking forward to making Miranda's baby food when she's six to eight months old.

If you're bored, you can see what my cats and dogs look like by going here: http://www.catster.com/?135683 Keep in mind that I haven't updated their Catster and Dogster pages since August 2005.

The user icons featured in my Live Journal depict Dr. Girlfriend and some other characters from the fantastically funny cartoon, The Venture Brothers. Most of the icons are images taken from stills of the show, which I found in various places around the 'net; if you see an icon you created from original Venture Brothers art, please let me know and I will credit you. For those icons that are original artwork featuring Venture Brothers characters, I have provided credit, but if you would prefer that I do not use your work, please let me know and I will remove the image(s).
