Flood Damage

My parents drove from Memphis to Metairie today to assess the damage to their houses. It turns out that both houses took in about a foot of water, so most of their furniture is completely ruined and all of their electronics will probably need to be replaced. The water damage at my house is probably much worse and though I'm disappointed that my entire comic book collections and many of my art supplies are ruined, I'm just too grateful that all my loved ones are safe to be really upset about it; We'll be fine without furniture, TV, or computers for as long as it takes for us to replace those things because we've got what really matters.

the_ugly_knight  was also supposed to go into Metairie to see what he could salvage, so I'm especially interested in hearing back from him.

I haven't heard from samothtiger , his sister ladybyng , or his brother Ego* for several days, which concerns me. I know they're safe, but I'd just like to get an update on them, so if any of you read this, let me just say: "You never call! You never write!" But, seriously, e-mail me or something!
