Well, unfortunately the LJ contact who was going to officate at our "ceremony" in December backed out last week and so far I haven't been able to find a replacement, so I'm freaking out just a little bit. If I can't find anyone else, I do have a potential backup in one of my mom's friends, but I'd rather not have to inconvenience him with that; however, if I can't find a replacement within the next few days, then I'll have to ask him and I'll feel quite blessed if he says 'yes!'

In the meantime, I think I've found a good photographer who has more reasonable prices than many of the others around town, the groom and groom's men are getting their suits in order, we have already gotten the wedding and groom's cakes in order, I trust my bride's maids to dress themselves tastefully, and tomorrow I'm picking up our wedding rings and a guest book to be signed at the reception.

I've still got a lot to take care of and I'm more than a little nervous about it, but I'll get through it alright... or totally freak, but whatever. My mom is getting back in town tomorrow, so hopefully she'll be able to help with some of the last minute preparations (we do every damn thing last minute), but at times she can also get over-anxious and cause more strife than good.
Last night, in my panic of trying to find a new wedding officiant, I decided to try to get in touch with members of the local Unitarian community; I grew up attending the Unitarian church and I felt that, although I haven't attended since becoming an adult, I would still be able to rely on them and...

I was right!

One of the members of their Yahoo group got in touch with me early this morning and even put her Reverend in touch with me, and Reverend Marta is happy to perform our ceremony! Not only is this a huge relief for me, it's also a good start for my journey back into the Unitarian community, which is something I've wanted to begin for quite a while now.

I'm excited and relieved!

Now the only group I'm still waiting to hear back from is the Aquarium about the venue we'd like. If we don't hear back from them, I'm just going to have to get some friends to casually stake the spot out on the evening of the wedding... which I guess is fine, but it's something I'd prefer to avoid.
