Today would have been a brilliant day for gardening! I wasn't able to garden, because we're not at that point with our home just yet, but I did work outside on the pool; the blue-green algae bloom that had turned it a lovely shade of emerald green is dead now, although the water is still cloudy, but that should clear up in a day or two as long as the pump runs constantly. Carl put up our mailbox and broke the sledge hammer while hammering in the stake that anchors it; tomorrow he's planning to put up our house numbers and build me some shelves for inside the pantry! We're both feeling quite happily domestic.

All the cats are home now and we're working on getting Sterling acclimated to outside, although he still prefers to be indoors at the moment. He's doing much better than Kira, however, who enjoys laying behind the toilet; it's pretty odd to hear her loud, rumbling purr while I'm trying to do my business.

The weather should be just as beautiful tomorrow, which is fantastic because my mom has two gigs for French Quarter Fest. In the morning she's doing her stage show, Rockin' the Cradle of Jazz, at the stage near the Aquarium of the Americas; She's working with Charmaine Neville, Lillian Boutte and her brother John, Amasa Miller, Hack Bartholomew, Detroit Brooks, and Gerald French, and I'll be narrating from back stage and covering any additional lines if the performers happen to forget one. Later that afternoon she has a gig at another stage with her band The Pfister Sisters. I'll probably head home after the first gig to help with the shelves and whatnot around the house.
