My drawing teacher Daphne is moving to New York this summer and unfortunately can't take her three-year-old, female Rottweiler with her; the Rottie can't stand being crated from abuse she suffered early in her life, so traveling would be extremely stressful to her, and Daphne's moving into a small apartment on an upper floor and she's worried that the lack of space would be hard on her dog and that the stairs might lead to early hip displasure. Allen* and I haven't met the dog yet, but we are planning to meet her next week; from everything Daphne's told me she sounds like she'd make a good addition to our family, but I can't be sure until we meet her. When we go meet the Rottie I'm going to take Orbit, one of my ferrets, to introduce her to the idea of small, stinky animals and to see how she reacts to a ferret. When I spoke to Daphne today to arrange a time for all of us to meet she was thrilled that were just willing to meet her dog; every time she talks about her dog it's obvious that she really, really loves her and feels terrible for having to leave her here in New Orleans, but some changes just can't be avoided.

I put up pages of my cats and dogs, and my parents cat and dog up on Catster and Dogster. Unfortunately the only pictures of the dogs I had available also have me in them and were taken when I was about sixteen... not an all-good age for me, as seen in Cora's picture.
