I'm too poor at the moment to afford food, medication, my next tattoo, and a paid account so the paid account will just have to fall by the wayside for a while, but I think I can live without it. I can't really afford the tattoo either, but I've cut money out of my healthy grocery budget to make it work. If it weren't for all my medical expenses I could actually live off of my disability income, but ce la vie, and anyway... I can deal.
Warning about the cut below: It's all incredibly geeky and only another Exalted player will be able to understand the majority of it, so just take my advice and don't bother reading it! It's really just for me to reference later, anyway.
Our last session with the_ugly_knight was a lot of fun and also earned me a nice little chunk of XP; Kiet won the vote for contributing the most to the session and Punky also awarded me ten additional XP for buying him sushi, an offer I was powerless to refuse even though I technically don't believe in offering or accepting such blatant bribes of the game master. Punky confessed that he was running completely off the seat of his pants, but this session was more fun than I've had in a while and seemed very put-together, except of course his numbering system for the rooms of the manse our characters were exploring. Monday night Kiet tied a strangely afflicted sorcerer's arms back onto his body, gleaned some useful information by bribing musician ghosts (or were they ghost musicians?) to explain the concept of 'the guardian' through song, cleverly defeated a dangerous, combat-oriented automaton, healed two party members, fought with a man strapped onto his back, and became oath-bound to Ferris, Ego's character, so that she must allow Kiet to accompany her as he pleases and so that he cannot betray her. Almost all the PCs got a lot accomplished, although I think Pixie* felt a little shortchanged and I can't really blame her, although I think the experience has given her a better understanding of just how Exalted should be played.
diabolicalsound got to play an evil version of 'V'Neef' Bradley and kick our asses until well after midnight, but he was, of course, gloriously defeated in the end... thanks to the power of the Unconquered Sun. ;) The core of the Circle (Kiet, Nimuë, Ferris, and Bradley) did discover that
livetruth 's character is a dirty, commie traitor, but unfortunately Kiet hasn't had the opportunity to bring it up and/or kill the damn Benedict Arnold.
Tonight I spent the XP I had accrued and was able to buy Kiet the Charm 'Anointment of Miraculous Health,' which is what I've been working up to for weeks, having already progressively bought Charm after Charm on the Medicine tree so that I was able to finally get this one; there are still two more Medicine Charms I can buy if I want, and I will get them eventually, but for now I'm going to focus on raising some of Kiet's Abilities (like Awareness, which I bought up to three tonight— Shut up about it, triple_phoenix! Everyone knows Nimuë has a five in it!) and then buying him some more advanced Performance and Martial Arts Charms with which to make Combos. I also chose the Lore specialty 'Medicine, Health' for Kiet and I'm considering giving him a new Specialty in addition to his Public Speaker Ability, which I think will be 'Animal Medicine' since I don't want to waste his Medicine Ability on that when it already serves me so well with humans. However, I might give him the Medicine specialty 'Natural Remedies,' but not until I talk it over with The_Ugly_Knight so I can have the GM's perspective. I also decided to go ahead and continue learned Snake Form Martial Arts even though it seems somewhat antiquated compared to the new Martial Arts styles White Wolf has come out with more recently, it just lends itself better to Kiet's image and fighting style even though its often incompatible with both weapons and armor, even the Serpent-Sting staff and simple breastplate Kiet uses; I'm also considering buying him the Merit 'Signature Style' because of my vision of Kiet as a martial arts expert.
Woo... I've put enough thought into this for now, so I'm going to stop right here! If you ignored my warning and read all this, you are either a fool or as big a geek as I am!
