What is your favorite fast food restaurant?
Taco Bell
What do you typically order?
I like the Mexican pizzas, but with beans instead of the mystery meat
What is your favorite sit-down restaurant?
It's a toss-up between Kanno- a little, hole-in-the-wall sushi bar with the most authentic Japanese food I've ever had- and India Palace, which is a wonderful, family-run restaurant that serves dishes from every corner of India and doesn't tone down the spices much.
What do you typically order?
At Kanno I always start with a clear soup and the house salad, which is dressed with a wonderful giner-citrus dressing that's always prepared fresh, then I usually move on to whatever sushi seems good to me that day.
My favorite at India Palace is the simple dal makni, which is a four lentil and rice dish, but all their food is equally wonderful. I also usually get a mango lassi, their lassis are the best in the city.
List your top five favorite foods:
1. fried okra (I'm a Southern girl, what did you expect?)
2. my dad's chilly skillet, it's one of my favorite comfort foods
3. sushi!
4. Chinese, especially lomein and hot-and-sour soup
5. Indian, because of its wonderful, complex flavors
Do you have a food specialty that you make?
vegan, pesto-stuffed portobello mushrooms and tangy, stir-fried asparagus
Who is the best cook that you know?
Probably Amy or Robyn, both are experienced and creative and Amy's dishes are both especially tasty and healthy, since she's diabetic
Favorite dessert? probably gulab jamun, which is a heavenly-sweet Indian dessert
Ideal pizza?
My favorite pizza, which people think I'm crazy for ordering, is a deep dish with extra cheese, anchovies, and pineapple.
What did you eat for dinner last night?
Last night I ate at a Phoenician restaurant with
triple_phoenix where I had the hot, mint tea, lentil soup, and the vegetarian grape leaves platter; It was all very delicious.
