Enduring Plum

Emaciated dogs are running loose in the ninth ward, abandoned. One family found the doberman they left behind before Katrina, which had not been fed or given water since then, alive but too weak to stand and they dragged it to the curb with the trash; Fortunately someone called the SPCA and the poor dog was picked up, so it will either be rehabilitated or put to sleep.

I don't know how people like that live with themselves, I would die inside if I did the same to my own dog. It just breaks my heart to hear stories like that.

Some people should just never be allowed to care for pets or children, because if you can't even provide properly for a dog you can't possibly make a good parent. I don't care who says differently.
